kcontrol settings disapeared and cannot be reconfigured Background, color, screensaver, ect. I've already su to root and ran kcontrol to overide user settings but this doesnt work either. There are about 6 other people experiencing this problem that I know of. Any Ideas?!?!?

I'm not sure what you mean by "disappeared", but my first guess would be a permission problem.

Make sure $HOME/.kde and everything inside is owned by you. If not, `chmod -R me $HOME/.kde`
