this is really strange...

on an old 3AT with GT4xi 8bit graphics it works fine (both icewm-lite[xpm] and icewm-default[imlib])

on 43Ps with GXT2000P/GXT4000P (default 8bit color, but does 24bit at the same time) only icewm-lite shows the icons

this is with icewm-1.0.9-2 and imlib-1.9.11-1

with icewm-1.0.8-6b neither icewm-lite nor icewm-default work

    Do an icewm refresh. I noticed some icons like the mozilla icon are ll black until I do refresh. I have only seen this on 44P-170/270s with GXT2000. If you talking about all bitmaps then it maybe related to patch I requested.

    Note that I had an AIX only patch needed for 24-bit True Color mode (which is required for some tools I use). I did not think if effected 8bit Psudo or 24-bit Direct Color mode, but I may be wrong. Please respond back which color mode you are using with 24bit color.

    ok, some new tests (44P-170 w/ GXT4000, 43P-150 w/ GXT2000 shouldnt be different, i assume):

    X -cc pseudocolor (8bit, the default) -> no icons at all
    X -cc truecolor (24bit) -> icons appearing
    X -cc directcolor (24bit) -> icons appearing

    but other strange effects

    with pseudocolor and icewm, catia v4 gets wrong colors (motif menus are ok) (ok, this not so strange)
    with truecolor and icewm, catia v4 doesnt initialize the `graphigs display (motif menus also ok)
    with directcolor and icewm, catia v4 has same problems as with pseudocolor

    none of these problems appears with other windowmanagers (twm,mwm,dtwm)

    and now?

    ps: is there somewhere an explanation of the difference directcolor vs. truecolor?

    thanks
    ronny
