We installed on machine A the following rpm packages
- openssl-0.9.6b-1
- prngd-0.9.23-1
- openssh-2.9.9p2-5
- openssh-clients-2.9.9p2-5
- openssh-server-2.9.9p2-5
- tcl-8.3.3-7.aix4.3.ppc.rpm
- tk-8.3.3-7.aix4.3.ppc.rpm
When we login to machine A via ssh (openssh) and enter:
tclsh
the system responds (correctly) with:
%
When we enter:
%exit
the window is blocked.
When you enter machine A with telnet and try the same sequence
no problem exists.
This problem is only seen in AIX 4.3.3 and AIX 5.1.
Many thanks for any hints
Klaus
Hi,
I had recreated this problem successfully, but I did not resolve the cause of it.
However, I have tried again now that openssh has been upgraded to 3.4p1,
and openssl 0.9.6e.
Now when I try this (with the newer versions installed), I can no longer
reproduce it. I think it has been fixed somewhere between 2.9.9p2 and
3.4p1 of openssh.
(Although I only tried it on 4.3.3; we do not handle the 5.1 openssh in
the Toolbox; that is handled by AIX Support).
Can you try it yourself and confirm?
Hi,
sorry to say we still have that problem.
Today on AIX 4.3.3 I upgraded to openssl 0.9.6e and openssh 3.4p1-3 also
and still see that hang after entering 'exit' when prompted by tclsh.
(naturally only within a session created by openssh)
Could something else be the reason for that problem?
We are also quite current on our AIX 4.3.3 level.
Best regards
Klaus (K.Wolkersdorfer@fz-juelich.de)
