/usr/linux/bin/su from the latest package sh-utils-2.0-8
is not usable. I cannot su to root or any other user.
Using dump -Tv I cannot find any reference
to the AIX authenticate() call, which might be the
reason for this.

It works on both my 5.1 and my 4.3.3.0 system.

    I don't need credential setting
very urgent, I mostly want to su to root:
if it would just call authenticate()
I would be happy. Mostly I need to 'su - root' when I am logged in
as DCE user, and this GNU su fails. I have to change the env variable
AUTHSTATE from DCE to compat, that I can do su - root. The AIX su checks
this itsself, I think via the authenticate() routine.
