I am glad I have somewhere to turn! Thanks to all in advance.
My problem is such. I have a a PCI 4500. I have put the latest firmware
into it. Taking out every other card in the machine. Verified that its irq
and io are free. Double and triple check the kernel for the proper config,
ie: no SMP. Built and rebuilt the kernel, 2.2.12, and the airo.o module.
Everything I do results in the same thing. When I do an insmod or modprobe
I get the the following message in /var/log/messages.
Oct 12 16:52:56 fddhcp kernel: airo: Probing for PCI adapters
Oct 12 16:52:56 fddhcp kernel: airo: Finished probing for PCI adapters
It never finds the card.
The /proc/aironet directory is empty. If I do a more on /proc/pci I can
see the card. /proc/interupts never shows the card. I am baffled.... :(
