This is my first post to the list. I wanted to ask some questions regarding
Cisco AP-350 and Linux RedHat 8.0
- Does the current driver support RedHat 8.0 distribution? (not the same as
2.4.18-10 kernel support as libraries etc. are all over the place with RedHat,
especially the custom start/stop scripts and of course the whole Yenta vs.
i82xxx support, sysconfig, etc.
- When I compiled the latest airo.o I get a lot of errors from the driver:
airo.o: Got weird message 1000
repeats endlessly rendering the text mode console unuseable. This card has the
latest firmware from Cisco (4.x.30 or something)
It does not happen with an old 4800 card from Aironet (pre-cisco)
- Kismet refuses to set the card into RFMON mode... ???
- I finally got Ethereal to decode LLC frames, but, are those the 802.11b
frames? The PCAP driver keeps saying "801 ARP type not supported, falling back
to cooked mode" whatever that means..
That is it for now. I am a total dweeb when it comes to compiling/libraries/etc.
I am fairly comfortable with certain administrative tasks... so if I totally
missed something obvious, don't be surprised.
Yes, I RTFM :-)
Thanks all for your help.
