I'm a developer with Spectrum Wireless and I've noticed a few anomolies
the latest aironet driver (from
http://www.cse.ucsc.edu/~breed/airo.html) and the
AIR-LMC340 card firmware. I'm new to the list so if this is old news
Specifically when changing the frequency on the AP (1 - Configuration,
1 - Radio, 5 - Frequency)
problems arise with the 340 card firmware/driver dynamically adjusting
to match the AP's
new frequency (ESS mode). I'm using a Cisco Aironet 340 series AP. Brute
force testing, by
changing the AP frequency yields the following results:
Firmware 3.93 - /proc/aironet/ethx/Config does not show channel change,
nor does card
dynamically change channel.
Firmware 3.98 - /proc/aironet/ethx/Config reflects channel change, card
Firmware 4.13 - /proc/aironet/ethx/Config does not show channel, but
card *does* appear
to negotiate new channel and work properly otherwise.
Summary: Firmware 3.98 seems to work correctly.
