I've noticed that recent card firmware (e.g., 4.25.25, 4.25.30) causes simple
40-bit WEP to fail on original PC4800 cards. Access points report packet
decrypt errors. The newest version that I've found that works correctly
is 4.13. Worse, recent versions of the access point firmware (e.g., 8.80)
seem to include new enough card firmware that it breaks WEP on the radio within
my original AP4800E. PC4800As seem to be ok with the new firmware as are
(of course) PC350s. I assume PC4800Bs are ok as well, but I try to avoid
those. :) Has anyone else seen this problem? Perhaps nobody runs WEP on
original PC4800s because it limits speed to 2Mb/s?
