I Recently owned a Aironet PC4800 Network card and do not know anything
about this card.
It seems that it had been removed off an accesspoint, because there were two
very neat Antennas connected to the diversity inputs.
Does anyone have some hints about this card ? (is it really 802.11b compilant
I tried to get access to my working Lucent Wavelan (802.11) Ad-Hoc network,
which also works with two Nokia C20 / InTalk ST500A Cards fine.
But the Aironetcard can't connect. The airo_cs driver starts fine, and no
error message appears in /var/log/messages. but I can't do anything.
So I installed the Windows driver and software (WinDGS) to make another test.
But with the same result, no connection. The channel is right, the antennas
are connected, the ssid is right, too.
The Statistics-funtion says the adapter is sening lot's of frames, but does
not receive any.
After that I updated the firmware to Version 4.25 but nothing changed.
I read in some newsgroups, that these old aironet cards have some
difficulties while ad-hoch connecting with non-aironet cards ? Is this the
failure or is it possible my card is broken ? (should not any driver yell
about this ?)
