One thing that has never been completely clear to me is whether or not PCMCIA and airo_cs is needed for a desktop PCI card. I have an Cisco Airo 350 card. It's basically the pcmcia card stuck to an otherwise normal looking pci board. To date, I haven't been adding pcmcia into my configuration. I've had stability problems with the lastest airo.c file from cvs and the 2.4.17 kernel. Periodically my card loses connectivity, until I power the box off completely. When this happens I also notice that the machine will not properly power off at shutdown, which suggests general kernel instability. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
