It may just be that your interface is down. Do "ifconfig" and if it doesn't list aj0, then do "ifconfig aj0 up" and try to run essid_jack. Michael Weiss <mj...@po...> wrote:Hi, I'm new to Airjack. I'm running Linux 2.4.20-20.9, recompiled with the CONFIG_NET_RADIO option =y and using kernel PCMCIA as a loadable module. I have been using the hostap driver with my D-Link DWL-650 for normal wireless connectivity. I've installed the Airjack driver v.0.6.6b-alpha and the tools (missing ones taken from the 0.6.2 distribution), seemingly without incident. When I type iwconfig, I see "aj0 no wireless extensions." I have tried to test out the essid_jack tool, but it returns the error message: "write: Network is down." I've taken a look at essid_jack.c, and I can see where it's failing, but I'm not quite sure why. I would be very grateful for any assistance that you might be able to offer.
