I propose that we delay the release of the AiM 3.0 beta for at least a month. It would allow us to fix all the bugs correctly and would give us time to add more features and test the new version more thoroughly. While it would be nice to release a new version for the start of the Fall semester, it might do AiM's reputation more good in the long run if new users have a good first impression by giving them a more stable, well-tested release to play with. In addition, I have about 3000 lines of new code and bug fixes that I have been documenting and working on all week in order to get it ready to commit, but I would like to discuss these changes with the list and test them with the changes others have made recently before committing them. Thus I think a one month delay would do the project a lot of good. On a related matter, I have fixed the problem with the guest account that Chris reported, but didn't commit that fix yet. On a completely different matter, Mike Fraboni wrote to me today saying that he tried to write to the JISC AIM list but it doesn't seem to work. Is that list shut down?
