AIM should have a well documented API which will allow
external applications and web pages to interface with
AIM. Ideally any task that can be done via AIM's web
interface should also be doable automatically through
calls from external applications. Similarly any information
that can be extracted from the AIM system via its web
interface should also be extractable by external
programs. The details need to be worked out.
