All Aiapps Team Members, Welcome to the project. We are now all set to get started. Our first set of efforts would be around the following: 1.Define the scope of the project 2.Define prerequisits for effective contribution to the project 3.Definition of roles and identification of people from among us for each role 4.Definition of the first 2 sub-projects/deliverables to work on 5.Theory and begining material to start work on the first 2 sub-projects Let us aim to get first set of answers to each of these questions by the end-of-this week. To get started let me put down what I think is the scope of this project ......... "ai applications,or \'aiapps\', is a suite of applications applying algorithms and methods from the domain/field of artificial intelligence, machine learning, evolutionary computation, neural nets etc....to real world problems" effectively what we intend to do here is learn, understand and apply the methods and techniques from the field of AI to real world applications. Now I had put down the following as the first set of real world applications to work on .......... a.Bioinformatics Sequence analysis - Classify DNA/protein sequence as a known gene/protein type b.Data mining Pattern discovery c.Document classification Categorization of internet search results d.Handwriting recognition Analyse handwriting point sequence & classify as characters e.Financial Forecasting Time series prediction for stock-price and then extend to many more.........Perhaps we start with the first two -- Bioinformatics & Data mining This also starts on the topics 4 & 5 though it needs more discussion. So now what you folks need to do is start telling all of us what and how much you know about any AI techniques and Bioinformatics & Data mining so that we know what prerequisites to define and I could possibly point to some reading material as relevant. more as we start our discussions......... gracias! ~Shanky -- Logic: The art of being wrong with confidence...! |
