I remember the grand days of AI when things were so very hopeful. We had great problem solving systems. We only needed to get them scale a bit better. Inference engines are very sensitive to the size of the working set. And we never did solve that problem. Of course, that's one of the things Rolonics is all about--having a well defined context, a well controlled namespace, and consequently an environment where not every inference is applied to every rolon in the infobase. The first step in building such a system is to focus on ontology. We've got that. Next we add semantic relations, and a few simple rules about communitive/symetric and transitive relations. That shouldn't be too hard. After that, we'll see. If nothing else, it should be a great platform for applications.
