    Hi,

I'm trying to - guess what? - mount an afp volume.
The problem is that when I try to mount it this way

    mount_afp 'afp://user:pass@192.168.1.2/shareName' /var/www/somemountpoint/

    it complains

"Mounting 192.168.1.2 from shareName on /var/www/somemountpoint/
Volume shareName does not exist on server .
    Choose from: , ,
    "
this is the point.. chouse from an empty list.. the number of share found ( 3 this time ) seems right, but they have no label.. so I guess it cannot make a match between "shareName" and ""..

    "AFPFS Version: 0.8.1
UAMs compiled in: Cleartxt Passwrd, No User Authent, Randnum Exchange, 2-Way Randnum Exchange, DHCAST128, DHX2
    "
    thanks for any advice!

    Hi,

I am experiencing this problem also. I tried using SharePoints (as suggested elsewhere) under Tiger/ppc to create a new afp share, but it is not recognized  when using mount_afp, nor is any subdirectory from the mac I am trying to connect to (I can connect to the mac name and see everything, but this is not what I want). As the OP reports, I am also seeing an 'empty' list of shares to pick from (" , , ").

I am running afpfs-ng on Ubuntu 10.04.03 ppc, afp_client status gives:
    "AFPFS Version: 0.8.1
UAMs compiled in: Cleartxt Passwrd, No User Authent, Randnum Exchange, 2-Way Randnum Exchange, DHCAST128, DHX2"

    Thanks
