Hi Ryan, The project at http://afp-renderer.sourceforce.net is now out of date, it's staying around for people who are still using the very old version of FOP. The latest version of FOP now includes the AFP Renderer in the core distribution. I understand that there has been further development there, though I don't know if they've made any progress on outline fonts. You should have a look at http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/ and see if that version meets your needs, or you can post a question to the FOP mailing list.
