Aethera isn't handling large amounts of emails very well.

I have a pop3 server that I store my email on, and it has about 2300 emails in it. During initial download of the emails, Aethera didn't display anything for close to 5 minutes. This is a local server, and I could see Aethera doing the pop3 download in the konsole window.. it had a bunch of email to display, it was just intent not to display it until all of them were downloaded.

Once the email was downloaded, I clicked on the Inbox folder, and it took another 5 minutes to display the email in the folder. During this time, Aethera was unresponsive, and failed to do basic windowing tasks such as repaint itself when resized. This happens every time that I click off of/on to the Inbox folder.

KMail and Evolution have no problem with this amount of email -- displaying extremely quickly, so it is definitely an anomoly in Aethera.

Also, if I define a filter, I can find no way of applying the filter against existing emails. I would like to be able to select any number of emails in a mail folder, right click and select "apply filters".

Keep going though, this is looking to be a nice client!

      Hi,
Yeah, I know the problem witch makes Aethera to be slow (POP3 and IMAP4)on large amount of mails.
Also the memory usage isn't well. This is a task with high priority for me and I hope to fix the problems untill the next release (2 weeks). Thanks,
      Eug

        Excellent, thanks!

I have more stuff that I will be submitting, but I wanted to concentrate on "real" usability issues first. As long as you don't mind hearing from me, I'll be helping you make this the best email/pim client on the planet ;-)

        Have a great day,
        Steven
