Hi, I'm trying to prevent my Synology DS212j (DSM 6.1.3) from powering down during backups running on my Win7 PC but apparently I'm doing something wrong, as the backups are failing precisely at the normal shutdown time of the DS212j. (The backup software, ShadowProtect, is trying to run an unusual full back when normally an incremental would be run.)
This is APM version 4.0. Poweroff Settings are: Main Schedule: [Enabled is checked]
Sat-Tue AT 01:00
Wed AT 04:00
Thr AT 07:00
Fri AT 18:00 Disk Traffic: [Enabled is checked]
Lower Limit: 40MB
Measurement interval: 10min
Number of measures per interval: 1 Network Traffic: [Enabled is checked]
Lower Limit: 10MB
Measurement interval: 1min
Number of measures per interval: 1
Please let me know if you see a problem or what I should check. Note: I was using DSM 4.X until recently and APM worked well then. After a bug of some sort, I had to reload DSM and (perhaps foolishly) decided to upgrade to DSM 6.1.3...
Thanks,
Steve

When doing a Windows backup, you may see some network/disk activity, then no network/disk activity at all for some moments.
I hence would recommend changing from Number of measures per interval: 1 to Number of measures per interval: 10, ensuring that every minute (because your internal is 10 min for disk traffic) a check is made, and if, for 10 minutes in a row, the disk traffic is < 40MB, then the app will consider the backup as finished and will shut down.
Maybe the Measurement interval should also be enlarged.
