The adventure engine will be java-based; the old C/C++ code is abandoned. The first release of the java version is not far off now...
The first release ever of the adVM engine, including a sample adventure, are due to be released at september 1st 2006 for windows/linux/freebsd. So if you're interested in this project, check back at that time. (Or, of course, check out the latest svn repository, but there you're on your own (though there are READMEs ;-))
Just to let you know the project ain't dead.
I've been improving a lot of things the past few days. The first demo release is not so far off; some things do need a lot of work though.
The planned release is September 1st! So if you're interested in the project, come back then to download a fully working demonstration adventure game.
In the meantime, you are welcome to browse the svn repository and/or offer your help in the development process.... read more
Started to work on adVM on SourceForge.
So far, the following things work already:
- Graphics and resource management
- Python scripting (including GUI scripting)
- Sound/music handling
- Basic navigation
