I have just started playing around with the AdvancedHMI….. and so far it looks very very impressive.
I am however struggling a little with what I am trying to do. I am trying to do a bit of home automation. I wish to monitor power usage at my house and maybe a little more as time goes on.
I have a Merlin Gerin Power meter PM9C, which talks modbus485, if have a Gridconnect NET485 modbus485 to TCP bridge. These 2 things seem to work fine using the Ocean Controls - Modbusview. So I know my hard ware is OK.
My TCP bridge listens on stardard modbus port 502 and is at address 192.168.11.101 on my home network.
The power meter is on the 485 side and is modbus address "1" on the modbus.
Advanced HMI has a ModbusTCP comm control, but the properties are not obvious to me. The ModbusTCPComm1, seems reasonably self explainetory, but what is the UnitID property, Is this the modbus address of the module on the other side???
Do I need only one of these controls for the ModbusTCP bridge, and therefore all the divices on the modbus485 connected to this device.
The properties for the ModbusTCPComm control are :
TargetIPAddress
TargetTCPIPPort
UnitID
(what is UnitID)
As far as the a control on the form that gets a value from my power meter on the, does anyone know haw I would specify is modbus address and register address of what I want to read in the properties of the control, in this case a panel meter.
Sorry to trouble you for what may be very obvious, but I am not a pro when it comes to scada but am wanting to learn. Is there any documentation on the controls and their properties etc.
I greatly appreciate any help with this.
Regards Tim
