I've got a fresh IIgs I dug out of storage. I have the PC connected to the Apple with a USB-to-serial connector, a DB-9 to DB-25 adapter, and a DB-25 to Apple serial cable. I can send files to the Apple at 9600 baud with a terminal program, but it's not getting any data from ADTPro when I send the bootstrap file.
I tried sending Speediboot manually with my terminal program - it said that my modem was on Slot 8 and wouldn't communicate with the ADTPro server either. Help? :(

It's unclear to me which serial port on the GS you're talking to. ADTPro will (always) try to use the modem port (built-in slot 2), which it will call "slot 8." Are you using the internal 8-pin mini-din modem port, or a Super Serial card, or...?

It's an amazing product - I've got a box full of GS software now! Thanks for making it!
Quick question too, is it possible to use the virtual serial drive from inside GS/OS 6? I bought the ByteWorks product collection and it came with a 32MB ProDOS image with everything pre-installed. I tried running the virtual serial drive program and it works in ProDOS 8 but the drive disappears when I start the Finder. I don't have a hard drive for my GS so I'm stuck with trying to run Orca/C off of an 800K floppy. :(

It was the cable. I ordered a properly-wired cable and ADTPro works fine now.
That'll do it, for sure!

No, unfortunately. GSOS is an entirely different operating environment. The driver is strctly an 8-bit affair.
