Although multi-file formats are quite rare, ROL is not the only one.
There are a few other players already in AdPlug, requiring multiple
files.

Right now, i have something like the PATH environment variable in mind,
which AdPlug would walk along to look for the file, requested by a
player. Seems to me the only way to resolve this, as it would be
overkill to implement a specialized method for each multi-format player
in AdPlug.

Same here. But i hope i manage to get some free time around August to
