You're talking about Tyrian by Epic Megagames. As for me, i'm still stuck with your source. I partly ported it to AdPlug's interface (that's the lds.[c,h] files in the source tree), but it's not finished yet. Here in germany, there's a pc gaming magazine called "PC Games" that once used loudness for the background music in a menu system on their add-on CDs. I wrote to them a few months ago asking about where they got it from, but no reply since. I tried to track down the authors of that Tyrian game, but no luck either. > The fellow who made the "rdosplay" program was also able to support > it. But I've never had luck contacting him either. I also think he > may have just swiped assembly code from one program and dropped it > into his, but that's just a guess. That's also what i'm thinking of. I tried to contact him several times, using the email address from the RdosPlay website, which is still up, but dating '97, but without luck. Just a few weeks ago, someone sent me a new email address of the rdosplay author and an ICQ UIN, saying he was just talking to him about his sources and that he lost them. I tried again, using the new email address and through ICQ, but still got no reply. But the ICQ number appears to be right, at least from what i've learned from the User Info page. Maybe i should just try again... > Anyone else know any other information about this format? Game makers > who used it, etc? Or anyone know reverse engineer types, or > dissasemblers who feel like wasting time deciphering a adlib sound > file format? Sorry. That's all i know about it. Simon |
