I am very interested in either gaining Admin status with this project or taking this project over all together.
I would also like to get feedback from the members of the ADOdb/AXMLS community. What are your thoughts on the matter? I have just recently started to look into maintaining this project. Has there been any other serious bids to take this on?

Below is a copy of the email I sent to Richard Tango-Lowy and Dan Cech.
"I'm not sure how many offers you have had to take over this project, but I'd like to put in my bid.
I am using ADOdb in my own PHP CMS project, and my place of employment is in the process of adopting ADOdb for it's internal software (we are in the process of porting our existing software from ASP classic to PHP).
I really think AXMLS is a great project, and it's just the functionality that I've been looking for, regarding the installation and updating of my CMS and it's modules/plugins.
I have "checked out" the current AXMLS CVS repository and have been working at updating and fixing bugs that I come across while using AXMLS.
I would really like to give back to the ADOdb/AXMLS community by contributing my fixes and updates, which brings me to the topic at hand.
I have been looking around, and I haven't seen anyone step up to the plate and make a good effort at taking over this project.
I would like your opinions about this subject. Could you please contact me so we can talk about this? I would be very greatful if I had the opportunity to get your feedback.
Thanks, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the matter.

I'd also be interested in getting involved with this or a spin-off project. I've been working with adodb / xmlschema for about 12 months on MySQL and SQL Server. I've modified my local copy to Extract and Parse a directory of multiple xml schema files to cope with large sets of data which I found to be a issue (unless you set your php memory_limit sky high). I've also added <![CDATA[ around all text field data as a quick fix for special character issues I was having.
I've recently encountered issues with primary keys and fulltext indexes not being extracted from SQL Server. I'll raise this in the tracker but hope to submit a fix myself at some point.
Cheers
Dave

There are many reasons for this. The main reason is that this project is already established. There is already great community built around AXMLS. I'd rather tap into that than try to build a new community, and possibly even divide the existing user base.

Actually, my first task around here is to setup an SVN repository. I talked to Rich about this too, and he would have started out with SVN if SF offered it when he started the project. Great minds think alike :-p

Once I have a chance to breath (very busy at work and home at the moment), I plan on contacting you. I'd love any help that you'd be willing to lend.

I just found several bugs in axmls and was looking for a new version and saw your message.
I would definitely help you fixing a few things but I don't have enough time for more but I would be glad to see that project alive!
Remo
No matter what happens regarding admin status here, I still plan on addressing any bugs that are made known to me.
If you could report anything you come across in the tracker here, I can then have a list of items that I can tackle.
Great! I'm glad to hear that someone wants to do it!
But why don't you/we start our own spin-off? Having an svn repository would simplify a few things - I could send you patches instead of messages...
