ADF Opus / News: Recent posts

Say hello to ADF Opus Version 1.2. New in this version is a text viewer for viewing simple text files. The viewer allows viewing of files that are not associated with an application under Windows, such as startup-sequences. The viewer is available through the toolbar and the main and context menus.

Additional improvements:
Fixed a bug that resulted in the boot block not being found during installation when creating an -ADF in any directory other than Opus' root directory , caused by a silly assumption about the path to the bootblock.
-Prevented the bootblock warning from being displayed when creating a new, bootable adf.
-Updated help yet again for the new features and GUI elements and corrected some outdated elements.
-Fixed two bugs reported by Eric Trinh. One that caused divide by zero errors when trying to copy zero byte files and another that reportedly causes only the first volume on a device to be displayed when opening. I would like feedback on the second one as I can't test it myself. Looking back over past bug reports, it seems that this might be the cause of problems with opening volumes reported by several other users. Well done, Eric!... read more

Finally got around to uploading version 1.1 binaries. Apologies for the delay. Improvements include file undeletion and menu icons.

Version 1.1 will be release soon. In the interim, the updates have been submitted to CVS. They include:
-Menu icons
-Undelete functionality for ADFs.
-Further update of ADFLib, including detailed documentation.
-Started on Doxygen for Opus.

The Doxygen docs are only of interest to developers.

ADF Opus Version 1 sees the light of day. This version finally drags Opus firmly into the land of the living. It contains forty-odd changes including fixes for all known and several previously unknown bugs, implementation of almost all the outstanding features I had thought of, numerous user interface enhancements and several updates. Installer packages are now provided for both source and release versions. See the release notes or the History page in Help for a complete list of changes visible in the release version and those only affecting the source.

The version uploaded into CVS contains many bug fixes and improvements. It fixes most of the major and longer term bugs reported and several minor ones. See the bug list for details. The major Help facility update is well underway. Once this and a few other items are completed, version 1 will become a reality. This should be on schedule for this weekend.

I have now finished releasing all of the older versions of ADF Opus. You will find them on the Files page.

I have created a release for every version that I am aware of and that the file history shows. I have also released files for every version I have or can find on the net. As you can see, there are several that I have not been able to trace. If you have or find a version that is not posted, I'd be grateful if you would drop me a note with the URL or to arrange upload.... read more

ADF Opus has reached it's new and final resting place here at SourceForge. If you're not already familiar with the facilities SF provides, take a few minutes to browse around and see for yourself.

I will start uploading past versions of Opus when I have a little more time. If you have copies of any older versions, source or binary, please drop me a line and let me know. I'd ultimately like to be able to post a full history of Opus here.... read more
