I am trying to import the AccountingUS.csv through System Admin | Data | Data Import | Import File Loader

When I select "Accounting - Accounts " I get an alert saying "Separator Character must be 1 char"

Checked the csv and found that commas are inside some fields and replaced them with dashes and tried but same problem.

Found some rows with no values in the first few columns and removed them altogether but same problem.

Can any one help me out?

    Hi,

Using Adempiere 3.6.0 LTS without patches.

3.6.0 has well know issue which is fixed with patches or by applying manual migration scrips.
Easiest way i think is to patch your installation with latest patches.

    Regards,
    Trifon

    Used the patch 20101111_patches_360_14470.jar
    and the migration script 20101101_migra_360.zip

and the problem went away. I could use the AccountingUS.csv without any modifications at all.

Thanks again for the great and quick help!

I think I got this problem when I was using a custom Import loader format with the separator char as "comma separated". It seems to get fixed when I select a custom separator char and put is as comma under the "separator char" field in the "Import Loader Format"

    Hope this helps someone..

    "Used the patch 20101111_patches_360_14470.jar
    and the migration script 20101101_migra_360.zip"

Can you write the web site where you found these files?
Can you explain me how you used the patch and the migration script?

    Thanks a lot!
