We have a quick update, just to let people the basics of what's been going on with the CMS and what's upcoming. Alpha is out and available, post-release patching is done and work on the next version - AdaptCMS 4.0 Beta, began a few weeks ago. A more proper update, detailing some of the features we'll be working on and such will be out in the next week or two.... read more
Re-written from the ground up, now using the Laravel PHP Framework, we have debuted an early but still strong alpha version.
AdaptCMS 3.0.3 has been released! This version ended up being a "smaller" sized release, plenty of new things but a lot of the major new additions/enhancements ended up being very time consuming. By the time this is being read, we will already be starting on planning for 3.0.4 and 3.0.5 - the former may be a medium-large sized release.
Release highlights:
With the release of 3.0.3, the documentation has also been update covering a lot of areas, this can be viewed here:
http://documentation.adaptcms.com/3.0.3/Setup/Installation
You can also see a full list of changes below:
https://github.com/adaptcms/AdaptCMS/blob/3.0.3/CHANGELOG.md
AdaptCMS 3.0.2 has been released! This version fixes bugs and adds/refines a lot of functionality in what ended up being a "medium" sized release. Below are some of the biggest new features:
With the release of 3.0.2, the documentation has also been update covering a lot of areas, this can be viewed here. You can see a full list of changes at github.
API Website Updated
With the new release of AdaptCMS, we switched framework for the updated API website. Switching to Laravel 4, this allows us to add new functionality easier and quicker. While we switched frameworks, we also added in new functionality! Rather than just creating an account that only lets you access that site, anyone can now sign in with their facebook or github account. We recommend github accounts because when submitting a plugin/theme, you can select an existing repository on your account to populate the author URL and download URL fields for - no need to upload a zip to your own site, just use github to easily submit to the site!
AdaptCMS 3.0.1 has been released - this version fixes numerous bugs and adds a lot of new functionality. Below are some of the biggest new features:
With the release, a new set of documentation has been launched here. They are minimal at the moment, but what they do cover - they cover very well. We hope to have full thorough documentation up for the next release.
You can see a full list of changes at github.
14 months after starting the newest version of AdaptCMS, AdaptCMS 3.0 is available to download!

We rewrote every single feature and functionality from scratch, are now using the cakePHP framework and a brand new admin panel/frontend design. 3.0 also introduces a brand new plugin/theme system, which has 9 plugins and 1 theme in total, which also brings in a new AdaptCMS API website. (see below) With a modern approach in mind, AdaptCMS uses the latest version of the cakePHP framework - which gives us a lot out of the box, so we can work more on the features than the nitty gritty internals.... read more
We've been hard at work this past month trying to knock out any bugs we see and getting the first public release ready for production use. The great news is we are nearing completion and we are at a point that a release date can be published:
July 20th, 2013
This is just two weeks from now and I just want to run through exactly what will be happening that day, because it is a lot. By the day before, or likely, the weekend before we will already have a zipped up copy of AdaptCMS 3.0 - but on that release day we will also be launching the new AdaptCMS.com website, an API website for plugins and themes and documentation site.
The new AdaptCMS website has been completely rebuilt just as the CMS - a new design and a ton of information on the new version. Both this and it's related sub-sites should launch that morning or early on that day at/around the same time as the CMS.... read more
The last limited beta, AdaptCMS Beta 3, is now available in a limited release. The new version brought a lot to the table - the biggest work was fixing bugs, fixing browser issues, mobile testing, query optimization and themes received a large upgrade. More refactoring was done, a AdaptCMS 2.x converter was made and overall a lot of little enhancements.
This release is limited again because there is more testing and we want our full release, 3.0, to be as tested as possible. Between today and the release of AdaptCMS 3.0 (a release date should be known by next month), we will be working on getting it production ready - adding caching, doing another round of query optimization/bug hunting/browser testing and a few features - likely a google maps plugin and some updates to the plugins to get them ready.... read more
The first public release of the 3.x line of AdaptCMS has been officially released. It is a limited release, which means while it is availble to the public, we are largely not promoting it. This is because we recommend users that download this, to at least have minor PHP knowledge - but it is a fairly stable version.
Included are instructions on how to install this version. In the admin panel, after installation, users will also find a bug report tool due to this release being a beta. Outside of that, have fun. We just ask to report any issues (or suggestions) and that if you start to use this release for a public site - starting with this version, future versions will be upgradeable so while we reccommend waiting until the 3.0 Final release, webmasters can start early now.... read more
Insane Visions is happy to announce yet another new release, AdaptCMS 2.0.4, immediately available to download.
2.0.4 is likely the last "minor version" to come out before the next big release is out. The changes are mostly small, but fixes several bugs as well as replacing some old code so AdaptCMS 2.0.4 is compatible with PHP 5.3!
Seeing the market share of PHP 5.3 at an impressive 37.9%, just 19.3% less than 5.2 - we decided it would be important to get AdaptCMS compatible with PHP 5.3 for future proofing.... read more
Insane Visions is happy to announce another new release, AdaptCMS 2.0.3, immediately available to download.
2.0.3 is another "minor version", mainly fixing bugs and errors discovered from the previous version as well as some minor asthetic improvements.

Insane Visions is excited to announce the next release, AdaptCMS 2.0.2 now available for download.
While being another "minor version", 2.0.2 fixes numerous bugs and improves the stability of the Social set of features.

Just a quick note thanks to a tip from someone (don't want to mention who without permission) a security hole has been discovered in AdaptCMS. It was in the config.php and involved just a few bits of code, one bit that cleans out COOKIES and such that should of been at the top of the file and the other bit that determined if a page was a frontend or backend one. This allowed XSS scripting to gain access to say the admin page without having proper access.... read more
Insane Visions is excited to announce the next release, AdaptCMS 2.0.1 now available for download.
Despite being a "minor version", this release still packs quite a bit more than we originally planned. The biggest part is a whole lot of bugs fixed, from the mod_rewrite to the plugins being fixed and in many other areas. Another part was the security was enhanced, not just improving it in the social area of the site but a newly implemented "SALT" method. This makes it extremely difficult for anyone to hack your website and gain entry as the salt password is randomly generated for each Adapt website and unless they gain access to your MySQL backend, they can't get password hashes. The third part is of course the features!... read more
Insane Visions has announced the major release of AdaptCMS 2.0, available now for download!
Although, unfortunately, many delays the biggest version since the very first version of AdaptCMS features a whole new look, completely re-written and brand new features. The template system was one of the major changes, introducing smarty to power the system instead of the in-house setup. This enables template caching, more tagging and an overall better experience.... read more

Insane Visions is relieved and happy to announce the beta relelase of AdaptCMS 2.0.0! The process continues as 2.0.0 Beta is an open process, open to anybody to try out - no registration required.

The new beta is the very first release of the AdaptCMS 2.x line and if you have used AdaptCMS before, some things will seem familiar but overall is a different experience. Being the first version in the line, even with a private beta, it is noted that the chance of bugs is decently high - if you have a big successful site, don't run the beta on it.... read more
Still with a long ways to go, nonetheless, AdaptCMS 2.0 has gone from Alpha to the start of Beta stage. This means the script is somewhat stable - although serious testing is still a bit off.
There is still a lot of work left before a Beta is released but one of the important steps - a design - is in progress with the default frontend layout already done! Talking about progress, there has been a lot lately after a break - much work on the social and share features especially.... read more
Insane Visions has announced the release of AdaptCMS Lite 1.5 and AdaptCMS Pro 1.5, both available to download/purchase!
AdaptCMS 1.5 is largely a minor version, as it comes inbetween 1.4 and the major version, AdaptCMS 2.0. Although minor, this version is more than a few bug fixes - there are numerous new features. The biggest new feature is tagging and "Quick Edit". With tagging you can take advantage of such Web 2.0 features as a "Tag Cloud" and also help visitors search easier. A very useful "Quick Edit" feature has also been added, letting staff/admins quickly edit articles from thefrontend of the site.... read more

For the first time with AdaptCMS, Insane Visions has issued an urgent security fix. This recent security hole was discovered by the group at Milw0rm. Upon hearing about this security hole we immediately fixed the problem in a matter of minutes and are now issuing this fix.
The Security Hole was related to the new "Check User" feature in AdaptCMS Lite 1.3 and AdaptCMS Pro 1.3. When signing up you would enter the username desired, once moving to the password field a box would appear saying whether the username was taken or not. The issue was the PHP that checks to see if the username is taken did not use any safe guards incase of SQL injection. The worst consequence is the stealing of the MD5 hash of a users password but NO passwords themselves were vulnerable to this problem.... read more
It's been a little slow lately the past few weeks here at Insane Visions. Working on a script from the ground up (AdaptBB) is quite a tedious task as well as a fun thing to do. The forum script is shaping up quite nicely so far, but there is still a LOT of work to do on the forums themselves, not even including some of the unique features.
With all that said AdaptCMS 1.4 will be delayed. I know an "official release" is never given, but AdaptCMS 1.0-1.3 were released two months apart. However with work on AdaptBB 1.0 as well as another Insane Visions-related website being worked on and various other things, I don't expect to release 1.4 until sometime in October.... read more
