    Hi
    I'm tryng to use tiacx on my AR7 mips router with pci-over-vlynq emulation and
    I get this error:

    94941363 ==> acxpci_e_init_module
    acx: compiled to use 32bit I/O access. I/O timing issues might occur, such as
    non-working firmware upload. Report them
    running on a little-endian CPU
    PCI module v0.4.9 initialized, waiting for cards to probe...
    94941366   ==> acxpci_e_probe
    PCI: Enabling device 0000:00:00.0 (0000 -> 0002)
    acx: found ACX111-based wireless network card at 0000:00:00.0, irq:80,
    phymem1:0x4000000, phymem2:0x4022000, mem1:0xa4000000, mem1_size:8192,
    mem2:0xa4022000, mem2_size:131072
    initial debug setting is 0xFFFF
    using IRQ 80
    vlynq0: Read of unknown register 0x38 (size 4)
    94941370     ==> acxpci_s_reset_dev
    94941371       ==> acxpci_l_reset_mac
    enable soft reset

    then hangs.

    Now i wish to try alternate drivers but:
    1) are tiacx and acxsm the same thing?
    2) if not, what is the one in wireless-2.6?
    3) where can I try the mac80211 version?

    Cheers,
    Matteo

      Matteo,

      > 1) are tiacx and acxsm the same thing?
      If you are referring to the driver available under the tiax directory in the wireless-2.6 kernel tree, yes. tiacx is the softmac version of the ACX driver, sometimes also referred to as acxsm.

      > 2) if not, what is the one in wireless-2.6?
      As said before, the tiacx driver in the wireless-2.6 kernel tree is the softmac version of the ACX driver

      > 3) where can I try the mac80211 version?
      You can download it from here -> http://www.cmartin.tk/acx/acx-d80211-20060709.tar.bz2, but you must bear in mind that it was released before the stack name changed from d80211 to mac80211. Some time ago there was an attempt [1] of getting this tarball into shape to get it included in the wireless-dev tree, but I don't know what the current state of things is.

      See the "Development" section of the main page of the project's wiki at http://acx100.sourceforge.net/wiki/Main_Page and follow the "SoftMac" and "Mac80211" links for more information.

      Cheers

      fixed the vlynq stuff, the driver hangs while initializing the interface:
