I have a D-Link DWL-520+ connecting to a DSL-604+ base
station. The problem I'm having is that it always takes
a few connection attempts for the card to connect to
the station. I think that this might also be the case
in windows.

If I manually load and unload the acx100_pci module a
few times it always connects eventually. So it "works"
but I have no way of automating the process. I've
attached the dmesg output for when it does and doesn't
connect.

So what would solve this problem for me is if, when in
managed mode, instead of giving up straight away after
not finding a station, it would try maybe 10 times and
then give up.

I had a quick try to do this myself but wan't sucessful.

The problem *I* am having is that people never seem to
specify the driver version they're using. :-\

Analyzed the log, and since there's the Tx error 0x10, it's
quite likely that you're not using a relatively current tar
    file.

Sorry, I've tried with CVS and the latest tarball. Same errors
as far as I can tell. Which one exactly should I be using?

Please report whether playing with the
    iwconfig wlan0 retry lifetime XXX
stuff manages to fix at least error 0x10 (MSDU lifetime).
This would mean that our MSDU lifetime actually IS too low
(2048 at the moment, was 5000 for some short time).

Sorry, I've updated to the latest tar file and now the TX
errors seem to be gone. But now I'm not getting a connection
even when the station can be found. I'll post up the error
    output asap.

Using the latest with_fixes tarball can connect but loose
the connection within a few seconds getting the following
    over and over again:

Tx error occurred (error 0x20)!! (maybe distance too high? -
    change 'iwconfig txpower XXX')

I'm not exactly sure what to change the txpower to

What is the behaviour of pre7_plus_fixes_1? Any problems
    remaining?

Closing due to no activity within the last 6 months.

If you want to reopen the bug please make sure you have checked
that the problem persists even with the latest driver.
You can get the driver from http://lisas.de/~andi/acx100/
