Acto Framework / News: Recent posts

I have already started working on the upcoming ActionScript 3 version of the Acto Framework - which will become Acto 2. So far I have been setting a FDT+Ant+FlexUnit environment and am working on the Props component. I will be presenting a sneak preview of Acto 2 on Copenhagen next August 20th at 18:00 for the Danish Flash User Group. Feel free to pop by.

Last week Molamil released www.goitgreen.com - a site using a modified version of Acto 0.7 that's meant to be soon released as Acto 0.7.1

GoITGreen.com is a microsite developed for TopNordic that aims to inform about how green technologies can help your organization in saving time and money, plus helping the environment.

I have been busy the last couple of months in setting up Molamil together with Ramiro Espada (http://www.ramiroespada.com).

We aim to make Molamil a high end company focusing on both Web Applications and high-end Experience Websites.

What this means for Acto, is that from now the Acto Framework will become a product offered from Molamil and this will hopefully boost the activity on the project!

Another brief note to announce the "soft" release of www.actoframework.org

The basic site is pretty much there - just need some more extensive content! Working hard to make it happen very soon...

Note that www.actoframework.org uses in fact the Acto Framework.

Just a quick note to point out that the Acto Framework is now available for download. This first and initial release is versioned as 0.7

Within the next few days, new releases will be published - stay tuned.

The initial code is now in Subversion. You can browse it at http://actoframework.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/actoframework

Note though that before the code can make any sense to any fresh eyes some configuration examples, sample apps and documentation in general should be added.

So, after thinking about it for quite a few months, I finally got the project up and running here at SourceForge under an MIT license.

Within the next few days, the first import will be uploaded into Subversion. There is already quite a solid version to start with, since the Acto Framework is by now used for Production sites such as http://www.coke.dk

The release pace is meant to be pretty swift - the plan is to have a 1.0a ready by March 11th, and a 1.0b by the beginning of April. Afterwards, and while the version matures to a final 1.0 release, development for an AS3 version will start, aiming to have a 2.0a ready some time in May.
