ActiviX (Activist's LinuX) is a Lightweight Linux distribution based-on Debian Squeeze 6.0.3 using the lightweight Fluxbox desktop environment. The system is born because off the growing number of limitations on our freedom on the internet. The free press is having a real hard time practicing freedom of speech and it is getting harder every day.
Also activists struggle a lot with these problems while doing what they do. Even the peaceful Occupy protesters all around the world report that can't even communicate without police agencies or governments listening-in on their conversations treating them like terrorists only because they care about the world that we live in and want the best for it.

The people speaking-up for all of us in our best interests deserve the right to tell the world about their findings and believes, ActiviX is there to help them do what they do best in a safe and secure way.

The software included in ActiviX can be used for the following purposes:

  • Daily desktop usage
  • Secure e-mailing using GPG encryption keys
  • Secure and anonymous browsing using Tor onion router, I2P darknet and Polipo proxy server + lot's of browser plug-ins that help gain anonymity.
  • Secure instant messaging using encryption, OTR (off the record) messaging and secure IRC chat over proxy
  • Secure online meetings using Mumble voice chat
  • Connecting to Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
  • Connecting to Mac, BSD and other Linux systems using secure shell (ssh)
  • Connecting to remote desktops (Win,Lin,Mac,BSD,Solaris)
  • Encrypt files, folders and disks
  • Edit Photo's, Images, Video's, Text documents, HTML website code with easy to use free software
  • Record, edit, play, stream and convert audio using Audacity and VLC

ActiviX is intended to be used directly from a CD/USB medium instead off installing it to your hard drive. This way the system does not store any information except for the things you manually save to a USB drive or some other medium.
