And then there's me.

Ok so same old same old with the addition of Pete who is technical adviser. What is that role in our project? Also are you the only programmer?

~ We're in Beta 2. I have no urgent plan for us to go GA/Gold yet. It
all depends on user feedbacks. Let it soak for a while and if there
are no major issues reported, then we can upgrade the status to
Production/Stable.

So we are in feature freeze? Or are you guys still programming? Also we should do something about the open trouble tickets and bug reports if we are just "letting it soak".

For one, I need you to manage the forums. A couple of times I went in
there and noticed that some members have been waiting for 15 days for
membership validation. Can you see if IPB has a notification feature
where either you or me will get an email whenever some body is asking
to join?

Ok I will make it a point to regularly monitor the forums and look into the notification feature (I seem to remember seeing one someplace).

Glad to hear that, but I need you to set the permissions properly
whenever you make changes, so that if I need to "bother" again, I can.

The permissions are finally set properly. And if you ever DO have to bother make sure you chmod 776 everything you upload, I will reciprocate the favor. But for the most part everything for the site should come through me. The turnaround time for any website work is TOPS 24 hours. Also you can post web work in the website tracker on SourceForge.

Pete and I had been discussing this recently.
Could you please keep these discussions on the developers mailing list so the rest of us can be in the loop (or was this when I wasn't getting group emails?).

Online Wike docs are nice, but we'll need something that we can ship
with the release, so that the poor souls who don't have dedicated
Internet access can access it better.

Well we can go wiki docs and export offline versions for shipping with the app. This will encourage the entire ActiveLock community to contribute to the documentation effort instead of just leaving it to a few developers. We will still need someone (probably me) to keep an eye on the wiki's just to make sure only "good stuff" is getting in the docs. Insofar as that is concerned I have Wiki software I just need to modify it to connect up to our forum login system and develop a custom process to export straight HTML docs of "shipping". I will start work on that as soon as I get the green light from you. Turnaround time on that looks like sometime under 2 weeks TOPS (could be 1 depends on how things go).

Why don't you get a template started and send it to me for a look.
(BTW, this is something you promised to do nearly a year ago)
Once we're in agreement with the format, I'll send you the raw
materials for content.

Well I still AM working 2 jobs and also taking courses at the college this summer, so my time isn't endless. But I CAN dedicate somewhere between 5 and 10 hours a week to this project; that should at least be enough to get some serious work done on the things that need worked on. About the template... think about the Wiki idea, we can export the wiki docs to an HTML format and maybe even compile them into an HTML help file for sending with our final release. This will allow all the community to contribute AND eliminate duplicate work. If you still wanna go with a Word doc type thing let me know and I will begin working on that ASAP.

-Mike

-- **************************************** Michael E.
