Well I've built a big application, but I can't really show it. NDA and all that. When it comes out from secrecy maybe I'll do a writeup about it. I do remember awhile back someone wrote the ARP pizza application in ActionStep. It's small, but it looked okay. Found it. http://www.deja-vue.net/blog/2006/05/15/open-source-flash-pizza-for-everyone/ Also, Infoether's Indi http://www.getindi.com/ is written in ActionStep. Hope that helps, Scott On 07/09/06, Zjnue Brzavi <zjn...@go...> wrote: > nooooooo, why the silence?? say it was not pls!! :) > any examples would be fantastic! > > On 9/7/06, Zjnue Brzavi <zjn...@go...> wrote: > > ah, i get it. creating this component set was only an intellectual exercise :) > > > > On 9/7/06, Tiago Vale <tia...@gm...> wrote: > > > Ray you backstabber!! > > > > > > I did built some apps but I dunno if did good use of ActionStep ;P > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > On 9/7/06, Ray Chuan < rc...@gm...> wrote: > > > > Hi, > > > > > > > > On 9/7/06, Zjnue Brzavi < zjn...@go...> wrote: > > > > > Hi there, > > > > > > > > > > Can anyone suggest any links to apps making good use of ActionStep > > > > > component functionalities / appearance? > > > > > > > > I do know of people who have built apps who are on the list. Hi, either start the application (1) or force the creation of movieclips (2). (1) // create your views __and__ their parent windows NSApplication.sharedApplication().run(); (2) // do this after creation and initialization var wnd:NSWindow = (new NSWindow()).initWithContentRect(myView.frame()); wnd.setContentView(myView); wnd.display(); //continue with drawing... You must always attach a view to a window. See http://osflash.org/actionstep/documentation/views#hierarchy for more details. Hello, I've updated my actionstep library to use the modified NSMovie and NSMovieView classes. Now my video resizes itself to the wrong size. It maintains its aspect ratio but is about 2 times too small. public function initWithFramePosActive( frame:NSRect, redPos:Number, blackPos:Number): GameBoardVideoView { super.initWithFrame(frame); ... NSNotificationCenter.defaultCenter().addObserverSelectorNameObject( this, "movieInitialized", NSMovie.ASMovieDidInitialize, null); m_video = (new NSMovie()).initWithContentsOfURL("../../../video/ 002f3t360_TheGame.flv"); m_videoView = (new NSMovieView()).initWithFrame(new NSRect (0,0,frame.size.width,frame.size.height)); m_videoView.showControllerAdjustingSize(false,true); m_videoView.setDrawsBackground(false); ... return this; } private function movieInitialized(ntf:NSNotification):Void { m_videoView.setMovie(m_video); m_videoView.gotoBeginning(this); m_videoView.start(); } Any ideas would be much appreciated. I can supply all the source code for the project if required (will be release GNU GPL anyway). Cheers, Ewan |

Hello, I was hoping to draw in a NSView e.g. var myView:NSView = (new NSView).initWithFrame(new NSRect(0,0,40,40)); myView.graphics().drawRectWithRect(new NSRect(0,0,300,200), new NSColor(0x008888), 2); Unfortuantly the MyView member m_mc is undefined. Do I need to explicity set this using myView.graphics().setClip(myMovieClip); If so what is the best way to create myMovieClip? Cheers, Ewan |

sx? dx? im not familiar with AS-animations at all, can you explain? Also, toes the framework itself use animation? will the code be updated then? Hi, I've made some changes to NSAnimation and related classes. There are now 2 main classes to use: ASAnimation and NSAnimation. No, that's not a typo, there are 2 such classes. What ASAnimation does is allow the delegate with the method animationDidAdvance, which is not part of the Cocoa specs. This is an alternative to what Apple recommends: subclassing NSAnimation and overriding the setCurrentProgress method. I find this too cumbersome, so the framework now contains ASAnimation which saves you the trouble of subclassing NSAnimation. I've also added more constants to NSAnimationCurve and removed methods like setBegin/setChange such that full Cocoa-spec compliance is ensured in NSAnimation. See /trunk/test/org.actionstep.test.ASTestAnimation for an example. To animate in the RP(Robert Penner)-style, you would do this previously: >>> anim.setBegin(sx); anim.setChange(dx); anim.setFrameRate(30); anim.setDelegate({ animationDidAdvance:function(foo:NSAnimation):Void { mc._x = foo.currentValue(); } }); <<< Now you to do the same thing, you will do: >>> // no more setBegin/Change anim.setFrameRate(1/30); //note change in frame rate anim.setDelegate({ animationDidAdvance:function(foo:NSAnimation):Void { mc._x = sx + foo.currentValue() * dx; } }); <<< -currentValue is always between 0 and 1, so you can think of it as a fraction of the value to animate. Do not confuse this with -currentProgress which tells you how much of the animation has completed. -- Cheers, Ray Chuan |

Hi, thanks for pointing this out. It has been fixed.
