Thanks to several people in this group I have been able to get the tools
necessary to make changes to my DSDT and have made some progress.
I have resolved some of the errors in the DSDT, but there are still a
few I am not sure how to resolve.
I have tried my modified DSDT with ACPI kernel patch for 2.4.17 Versions
20011218, 20020214, and 20020225 and have varying results with each. I
have the most complete support with the most recent version but am
unable to get my wireless PCMCIA card to initialize and I also sometimes
get kernel oopses running VMware, neither of these problems happen with
earlier verions of the ACPI drivers.
When running with ACPI Version 20020225:

battery and thermal information only if I start the notebook with the AC
adapter unplugged, once started I can plug in the adapter and the
various items all seem OK. The problem with starting with the adapter
unplugged is the CPU runs at 730MHz vs 1.13GHz that I get when I start
with the AC adapter. I have verified that the CPU is running slower by
timing a few applications, and I don't know if/how to speed the CPU back
My various ACPI and DSDT files, with the computer running on battery

On line 681 I get a warning 2022: Object does no exist
On line 2190 I get an error 1047: Access width is greater than region
I am not sure if ignoring these problems is the cause of some of the
I also added a Return(0x00) to the end of the _WAK method to resolve a
couple of warnings, is this OK?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
