Computers can perform calculations in micro seconds.
They can also remember large numbers for later retrieval.
However, these results are good only when outputting the final values. The point is that there needs to be a standard so all document formats and word processors can be used to write mathematical formulas or other problems.... read more
For the last four months, Braille Espresso has gone through lots of changes; from the language/environment used to implement it, to the design plans. However, Braille Espresso will be implemented in other languages other than Java and C#.
These languages include: Java Script, Python and C++. While it is being under development in C# due to technical difficulties with the Java version, plans to implement this exciting technology in the listed languages is on-going.... read more
An early-access version of Braille Espresso has been posted! This version intends to translate Mathematics according to the Braille language used in the USA invented by a mathematician by the name of Abraham Nemeth.
Very few technologies have been able to do this, and the ones that can are expensive. The following is a list of features contained in this early-access version of the product, though it is still a small project:
1. Ability to translate most mathematical text.
+ Ability to insert the Braille symbols appropriately.
+ It is cross-platform.
+ Developers do not need to learn burdening concepts.
+ It only takes as little as two lines of your code base to incorporate this technology.
+ It is free of charge to use and/or incorporate.... read more
Current Braille translation libraries and other accessibility API's are just too bulky, complicated and hard to use.
They're not cross-platform, and they require us to learn special languages to create files specifying how the text should be translated. Developers are lazy, and the easier we can make life for them, the better. Braille Espresso is an attempt to solve the problems stated above, plus a whole lot more. Stay tuned for more on this project.
Its goals and missions are ambicious, and hopefully you are interested in changing lives of people who are blind, by incorporating this technology into your application(s).
By the way, the only thing you need to know about Braille is that it is a written language for visually impaired people to communicate.
