If I understand correctly, when the driver is loaded,
it sends a new firmware to the modem.
I have recently udpated the firmware of my modem and
I don't want to erase it. Is it possible to use the
cxacru driver without replacing the firmware ?
as far as I know you just need the correct cxacru `update to new kernels....`for 2.6.x kernels and 2003-10-5 cxacru for 2.4.x kernels.see also next adress http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/Set_up_PPoE
