The need to have a database in just one file is evident to everyone.the most welknown solution to fulfill such need is MS Access which uses files with extentions like mdb or mdx .but this solution have some issues .

Firstly, the whole package is not free.the only free part is its engine . secondly when we need to manipulate or create a mdb file we have to install heavy weight MS Office . Acalt Project. is a lightweight free alternative way of managing Access database files.

Acult is intended to be used for ms Acess,although it can be used by any Database.
