Implement authentication and access control.

Users and groups should be managed in preferences, so the preferences system will have to be written first.

See the ACal 5.0 planning document for details.

I will give this a try once the preferences system is a little further along.

By the way which authentication adapter do you think we should used for Zend_Auth? I know that the framework currently ship with the digest authentication adapter, but they have a whole list that they are considering here:
    http://framework.zend.com/wiki/display/ZFDEV/Zend_Auth

Or we could write our own adaptor. What do you think?

We'll have to write our own adapter. If OpenID was available as an adapter now I think it would be neat to use it, but it's not and frankly the infrastructure won't be in place until at least version 0.2 of the zend framework.

The user's profile or db record will have to contain the username, MD5 of password, groups for access control, and a serialized preference array.

Just a tip, use ACal::get_db() to get the Zend_Db database object. The tables are all already setup.

I have zero experience with Zend_Auth or Acl so we're all learning here.
