The AcademicTalk project has made its first public release, version 2.52 (beta). AcademicTalk is one of a set of distributed e-learning tools funded by JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee) UK. The project has created a Jabber client for synchronous group discussion and argumentation with an interface supporting higher-order thinking and reasoning in an e-learning context.

AcademicTalk realises managed dialogue exercises, specified as dialogue games, that can be adapted to particular educational contexts and problems.
