(and on any decent OS, a "permission denied" error would occur!!!).... so, you'd need to login as schoetz and change the file permission so that it can be written by Manuel before it would work.... and again, some people may want to have different config files too.... So, I steel believe that if we force the web server to write the config file to a fixed location, thus allot of permission troubles would arise.... Yes, here you're completely right..... this is an open-source project... so people can edit any file if they want... the config file is there just for those not willing to tinker with the source code Thanks for all the feedbacks...
