I’d like to be able to read and write the ‘omfi’ chunk in a broadcast WAV file that is used by an AAF. I have several AAFs that have been generated by Avid’s Media Composer that link to WAV files. These WAV files contain a ‘omfi’ chunk.
Is there a specification for how to read and write this data, or do you need to use an API to read and write this chunk or complete WAV file? I’d like to be able to access fields like Tape ID, Tape, Scene, Take etc.
At this stage I’m just looking to read this data, but will probably want to be able to create WAV files containing this chunk. I haven’t used the AAF SDK and looking for the simplest way to do this.

My instinct is that the AAF spec does not interact directly with WAV chunks. I reckon the data in the omfi chunk is from avid.
You say that the AAFs link to the WAV files, but what makes you assume the AAFs reference the omfi chunk?
