I have a questions regarding titles which video editing software embed into AAF files. I am specifically interested in textual part of the titles and from what I have seen so far, the titles are embedded in a binary form which more looks like a picture.
I am specifically interested in titles, created by Avid Media Composer, exported into AAF. Is there any documentation which describes the format? The software is capable of re-creating titles in full (the text, effects etc) from bare AAF file, so the information is definitely there. However it is buried under layout data: a test 20 characters title generated a byte array of a thousand bytes with the payload text (and it's non-Unicode which is an alarm for possible language specific text issues) somewhere in between.
I would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction.
You might want to have a look at the aaf xml converter and see if they appear in the xml but as I recall, not much string information of the video is carried over to the aaf in the first place
