Agent2Agent (A2A) is an open-source interoperability protocol for AI agents, enabling secure communication, collaboration, and orchestration across different frameworks, platforms, and enterprise systems. Built for agentic AI applications, A2A allows autonomous agents to discover capabilities, exchange structured data, negotiate interaction formats, and execute long-running workflows without exposing internal memory, tools, or proprietary logic.
The protocol supports JSON-RPC 2.0 over HTTP(S), streaming, asynchronous messaging, agent discovery, and multi-agent collaboration for modern AI ecosystems. A2A is designed for developers building AI assistants, workflow automation systems, orchestration platforms, enterprise agents, autonomous networks, and distributed AI infrastructure.
