I'm using "A Note" (latest version) on a Laptop computer (Win7 32bit), and when it happens to shutdown unpropperly (mainly when it the battery runs off), the next time I turn it on the program had lost (for good) the current notes.
Regards,
Sorry for the late answer. Support for A-Note is not really given from my side anymore and I am the only one here more or less.
Dont panic :) .. the Notes are all backed up in the "Windows Application
Data" directory. Find A Note\backup (normally at your user profile Application Data maybe in Roaming) and import the latest XML file (called
something like N.xml), where N is the number of times it has made a backup to A Note (or copy to notes.xml one folder below). This restored all my notes up to the time they suddenly disappeared :)

Thank you. I had the same problem and I really really needed my notes back.
Hope this bug will be fixed with the next update.
