I run windows xp pro and I have IIS up with protected
folders and the like. I had about 3 notes or so that were
all docked to the lower left corner of my screen and
rolled up. The latest upgrade finally preserved my
transparency settings but the positioning is odd... the
notes are re-drawn in slightly off locations, and I always
had to nudge them over a tad. The other day the
program started and nothing.. No notes or anything.
They were all gone.
I've never been able to connect to the server, to my
knowlege, so if the notes are stored locally I'm not sure
what happened. I like the idea of the server handling
the notes, but I'd like even more for the server to be
within my local area network.
I use the alarm function, primarily, so if the loading of
notes is not going to be stable and consistent, then I
have to move to another package. Stickies, on here,
has some nice features, but lacks the server
communication and the dockable notes to name a few.

WinXP SP2 Home: sometimes A Note start with an empty set
(66.xml 1Kb saved in the /Backup folder). Importing the
preceding set of notes (/Backup/65.xml) just restore the
notes.

dir. /Backup/ (last comment)
in \Documents and Settings\$user-name\Application Data\A
Note\Backup
Close A Note program
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\(your user name)\Application Data\A
Note\Backup
Copy latest file before the note disappeared
Paste into C:\Documents and Settings\(your user name)\A Note
Rename to notes.xml
Restart A Note
Your notes should be restored. If not, make sure you copied the correct
backup file; A Note creates a backup everytime you close the program
I also had this. This is a critical error and should be eliminated. However the reason is completely unclear to me.
