Zhuzhiliao is a browser simulation of the traditional Chinese bamboo cicada toy that makes a distinctive sound when swung in circles. The experience runs from a single dependency-free HTML file and can work offline without a build step or backend. Touch gestures, automatic swinging, and mobile motion sensors can drive the virtual toy. A fixed-step physics model simulates gravity, an elastic string, drag, tension, and rotational speed. Audio uses a real toy recording whose playback changes with motion, with a synthesized Web Audio fallback when the sample cannot be decoded. The mobile-first interface adapts to screen size, while a local counter records manual swings only in the browser. Its source is publicly visible, but the project explicitly restricts redistribution and public deployment.
