PI-Desktop

PI-Desktop is a free, open-source, local-first desktop workspace designed for AI-assisted coding and automated development workflows. Built with Electron, Rust, and the pi Agent Harness, it provides an independent environment for managing projects, models, agents, and sessions. Users can ask AI agents to inspect code, edit files, execute commands, and perform development tasks. Its planning mode allows implementation approaches to be reviewed before changes are made. The application supports cloud models, local models, custom gateways, and compatible APIs without depending on a single provider. It also enables parallel agent workflows through subagents and worker sessions. Its extensible plugin system adds panels, tools, themes, MCP servers, and background services across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
