Hydra is a lightweight Swift library for structuring asynchronous code around strongly typed promises. It lets developers chain dependent operations while handling completion and errors through unified flows instead of nested callbacks. Its async and await helpers allow asynchronous tasks to be written in a more sequential style. Promises can be cancelled through invalidation tokens and executed on configurable Grand Central Dispatch queues. Operators include timeout, retry, recover, validate, map, zip, all, any, defer, pass, and always. Hydra supports Apple platforms and Linux and can be integrated through common Swift dependency-management systems.

Features

  • Strongly typed Swift promises
  • Promise chaining and unified error handling
  • Async and await-style execution
  • Cancellable promise support
  • Retry, timeout, recovery, and validation operators
  • Parallel all, any, map, and zip operations
