Hopsan is a free, open-source multidomain system simulation application developed at Linköping University. It enables engineers and researchers to model complex systems involving hydraulics, mechanics, electronics, and other physical domains. The software provides a graphical environment for constructing models through interconnected components and reusable subsystems. Its simulation engine supports multicore processing to improve computational performance. Users can analyze energy losses, perform numerical optimization, and investigate model sensitivity. It includes tools for visualizing simulation results, animating system behavior, and exporting data to external applications. Hopsan also supports scripting, custom component development, and Functional Mock-up Interface integration. Its flexible architecture makes it suitable for engineering research, system design, and simulation education.
